It holds all we need for our instruction in the true way of life. Other ways have been tried, but none that end up well. The exclusive nature of the Word speaks to the relative nature of truth. Truth is exclusive in any other area of life as well. The specifics of the Word stand in stark contrast to all other paths that would cling to a worldview filled with ambiguity.
Joshua 1:8: “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Remembering the truths we’ve learned are key to implementing them. This simple truth to Joshua is one echoed throughout the Word. It’s a statement we can hold as our own that adheres us to the Word of God.
